LED 12VDC lights under counter

Thanks to Jim NCFISCHER I installed the lights.

All one string of LED lights.
Painted under the fiberglass to prevent light bleed through. One spot does bleed.
Used silicon to hold the string in place. All this was learned from Jim.
Ann now wishes we had done this day one.
No heat either.

What voltage are those things and where did you get them?

They are 12 volt warm white LED rope lights from Sailor Sams.

Looks nice John!
What did you use for the 12 V power supply?

I tapped into the 12vdc supply at the two switches for the single ceiling lights on each side of the counter. I put my LED switch next to the double switch. It is on the back wall just above the spice rack door.

I've been considering these for our kitchen island ever since seeing Jim's. I have a 110 circuit available in the island, not 12v. They sure look nice guys !

Yep, found 'em yesterday...about a buck a foot, not bad at all. I just have to find out if they can be trimmed...and finish up the other mods before starting a new one !

Bill,
The 12 volt rope can be cut every 3 inches, the 120 volt rope can only be cut every 3 feet,

Bill,
you say there is no 12 VDC in your kitchen. If you have a propane gas detector it think it runs off 12 VDC. I would also think there is at least one 12 VDC light in the kitchen area for boondocking. Just thinking out loud. Good luck.

Hi John, yes I have plenty of 12v in the kitchen, just not on the island...which is why I have the "problem". I'm not opposed to 110v ropes at all, but I'd have to just do the island...which is ok.
Bill

Has anybody put 12V lights above the peninsula counter in the 3400RL?

George,
Wait until the fall rally. I'll bet at least 20 people will want to do it. They're really great looking.
