crack in sink

We own a 2008 montana 2955. Our solid surface sink (not Corian) has a hairline crack on the bottom near the drain plug. Does Keystone stand behind that type of repair? If not, any recommendations?

Weird - we have had same thing happen - we have the same hairline crack. So far it does not appear to leak into the under cabinet. We cannot figure out how it happened! We would be very interested to hear what others have to say!

In '08, I was at the fall rally and had hairline cracks in my countertop and Keystone replaced the countertop. Some have said if you pour very hot water in the sink it may produce this crack. It was recommended to let cold water run in the sink when you do this....BTW I have an '06 3400. Mine was the poured solid surface (not Corian) also....

We have 2007 Montana and cracks appeared after warranty (of course). So far no problems, however I am sure we did not pour hot water into the sink. I use a plastic basin at all times. We have noticed a small hole just below the rim near the faucet. The "solid surface" is paper thin in this area I am very unhappy with this but the cost of replacement is very expensive. So far we are functional and we will repair the hole.

Here is a guide line that you can go by for any solid serface regardless of manufacture. I hope it helps.

We have the same problem. Hairline crack at the drain. Going Thursday to have it replaced under warranty by Keystone. It started out small and kept growing. Will ask dealer what the cause was,

Please let us know what the dealer says. We are no longer in warranty, but do have an extended warranty so not sure if this would be covered or not.

Well we got back from the dealer. He said it looked like when they installed the drain and cleaned the plumbers putty off the scratched the sink. They took it apart and used some kind of polish and polished it out. They also found another small scratch in the sink and polished it out also. Time will tell. Glad it worked out cause they were going to have to change out the whole counter. They ordered a new sink by vin #'s and came in wrong from Keystone. Will keep a watch on the repair and let everyone know the results.
