DEAD BATTERY

NEED A BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH FOR MY 5TH WHEEL RV - ONE THAT WILL RUN BATTERY #1 AND OR BATTERY #2 OR BOTH OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERIES
COMPLETLY BY THE TWIST OF A KNOB.

WHAT IS RECOMMENDED -- WHERE CAN ONE BE FOUND -- AND WHAT PRICE RANGE.

hello WildBill,
i dont know what the price might be, but i would check a marine parts store.
they should have just what you need. they use the same type of switch for the batteries in a boat.

Hi Wildbill
The item you are looking for is a Perco battery selector switch # 8501 dp. We sell them in our marine store for around $30. I have installed one in our 3400rl. Works great. Dan

We also added a marine switch and a second battery to our 5th wheel. That way we can charge one or both of the batteries, use one or the other, or turn both off when sitting. There was room for both in front. All marine sales have them.

The knife switches give a spark when connected or disconnected. The other type move the spark away from the battery and still allow easy access without having to open the battery box cover. That is unless You mount the switch elsewhere, the other issue is exposed metal and the possibility of something contacting the knife switch and shorting out.
