Awning flapping

What do Montana 3400 owners do to keep the automatic awning from flapping in the wind?

I use a sun screen & tie the corners down with rope & stakes.
See photo below on my signature. This set up will withstand 25 MPH winds & cause no damage to my remote awning. We usually leave our awning up all winter in FL. If there is a bad storm coming, I sometimes take it down for safety.

Hope this helps

When the wind starts up and the sun is hot, we retract the awning to about 4 feet. If the wind gets stronger, then we pull it all the way in. That seems to work for the flapping.

Roy, you are a brave soul, or it does not get very windy in your part of Florida! We live in the Land O Lakes area (just north of Tampa) and would never consider leaving the rig with the awning left out...seen too many disasters in our area where unexpected gusts came up and took extended awnings for a ride. However, I like your use of an awning shade to give the awning a bit more stability...thanks for the idea.

We always stay mostly around Bushnell, FL & yes it does get windy.

pulling the awning in is the only way you know that the awning will not be blown over the top of your unit. if it gets very windy i will pull the slides in.
with the sun screen and the corners tied down is the next best thing you can do.
we saw 5 awning over the top of units in grand teton area.
i have a tear in the awning over the large slide because i was slow to pull the sides in.
