Are the slide supports a relic of from the old park model tip-outs?

Supports

I used supports with my pre-Monte RV - Laredo 330RL travel trailer. It had cable slides and during PDI dealer said if you plan to have the slide outs out long term (more than a few weeks) it was a good idea to use supports. The supports did add stability. I still have them in the garage - need to put them up on Craig’s list.

Just to be clear, the link does not say to support the slides only that the unit should be level to ensure the proper operation of doors, windows and slide rooms.
