When we workamped we used http://www.workamper.com/
Found every job for 4 years thru them.
Working @ Mt Rushmore we got a Black Hills employee ID card that got us into most everything free or for next to nothing. They want us to be able to answer tourist questions about the local attractions. We did probably $500-750 of free admissions that summer. Loved it.

Do you guys receive a salary while working there or just a free site?
We are currently working for the Corp. of Engineers as Campground Hosts but this position is changing next year to a bid process and we don't care to do the bid thing. So now we will have to find somewhere else to work for next summer.

Scott, been a few years since we workamped.
But for example @ Mt Rushmore they provided a site and charged us $35 a week for it. We got paid for all hours worked about $7.60 a hour. The $35 was taken out before taxes so it did not show on the W-2. We got the Black Hills Employee Card and it more than covered the $35 weekly. Free admission and discount on meals when eating out.
Worked in Washington St at a house boat rental deal, all hours paid free site.
Tucson,Az. free site, all hours paid @ huge RV park.
Need to make sure the company does not include the site value in your 1099. We required the company to provide names of previous workampers whether they were coming back or not. If they refused, we just marked them off.
We would not work 20 hours for a site. Workamping can be a wonderful experience or a trip into hell.
I don't mean to jump on the topic, but though I'd list some of our experience.

Yes, we will be paid for all hours worked. We will also get the VIP card for surrounding attractions. Our season starts May 6th and ends September 15th and then off to Amazon in Haslet, Texas.
You should check out Workamper. ....you will find the job you will are looking for!

Thanks guys for the info. I have been looking at Workcamper.com but have not joined it yet.
As stated we work for the COE as Campground Hosts and it is a paid per hour job and free site & utilities. Wonderful job that we really love but it is changing next year to a bid position. We will be job hunting later this summer for next year.
Bigboomer: What type of work will you be doing there?
