Satellite Service?
Wish to switch satellite providers--have Bell ExpressVu right now but it's of little value/use when more than about 200 miles south of the border.
Looking at both Shaw Direct and Telus Satellite as alternatives, any recommendations?
Thanks, B

We use Shaw Direct with no problems down south. Telus does not have service down south.

Shaw direct at out B&S and on the Monty. They now have their third satellite up but not fully running with all the programs yet, it will provide many new HD channels when in full service. Before you buy a dish for your RV ask if it will receive the new satellite. Mine is a Wineguard automatic roof mounted and it works great, but will not receive the new Sat.
Don if you put your receiver in your RV on channel 988 and hit GUIDE you will see that the current model will require a dish replacement. (try it on the house as well) We will continue to receive the two current Sat's south of the border without the replacement however.
In my conversation with them yesterday they seemed committed to providing TV to Canadians as they travel so hopefully they will not go the route of Bell. Wineguard may already be making the new LNB? you would have to check with them.
If you are not concerned about setting up a dish all the time when traveling then you just purchase the same dish you have at home, a tripod and it will work as the LNB for them has been ready for the new Sat for some time now.

Shaw sent me a new LNB for my Trav'ller. You phone them and they will send you one if you have the Home Away from Home package.

They told me this morning the new satellite will not be available down south but what we got before will be available still.

Thanks for the info guys! Will have a closer look at Shaw but a little concerned that they may possibly switch their entire programming to the new satellite which apparently won't be available down south---perhaps going the way of Bell!!
