Too funny, but then again, I'm not the turtle!
I couldn't help but remember something from my childhood when I saw your post. It has nothing to do with shell-less turtles, but just with turtles in general, specifically "poor little turtles."
Does anyone remember when you could buy those tiny little green turtles that had scenery painted on their shells? (Boy, am I dating myself here!!!!) I remember begging my mother to buy me one every time we went to Woolworth's in Houston. The answer was always no. Ditto for those darling little Easter chicks dyed pink and blue and purple. No, no no.
Back to your turtle--I think a turtle without a shell is just one of the high school girl turtles at my school who are coming "shell-less" every day. Too much skin, not enough shell. I can't wait for the sub-zero temperatures to arrive because at last, the shells will be put on and decency will be the order of the day.
A shell-less turtle is just looking for attention. Obviously, it has no self-confidence and needs preferential treatment. Oh--don't forget the
No Turtle Left Behind law, either. If that turtle can't keep up with the other turtles, you better fix the problem fast--maybe put some smiley-face stickers on its feet or something. You better not make that turtle feel less perfect than the other turtles because if you do, Mr. and Mrs. Shell-Less Turtle will hit you with a lawsuit!
Oh, my--I think it's time for me to retire again.
