Hey Lucy, I'm home!!!!
Oh Mamma, the Mountains is nice! 63 degrees... drum roll please:
27% Humidity.
My guy doing the service for my former company has contacted us 4 times, mid 90's in K.C. humidity close to that.
Going to have to cut him loose soon.
Wonderful here in Estes at the Elk Meadow Lodge and RV Resort, albeit a bit pricey. Will look for one of Robbie's secret sites up in the woods somewhere.
Yahooo...

Ozz,
That's one of my concerns when I'm able to pull the plug, weaning everyone, both customers and the one who takes over the business from me. Let me know how it works out for you.
Jim

Congratulations Ozz. There is a song in my head saying something like;
You deserve a break today
so get up and get away.....
Maybe it was an old McDonalds jingle to the Disney theme music, beats me, but you DO deserve the break.

Ozz, I have visited that camp ground you are in while on a business trip.
A song comes to my mind "Rocky Mountian High" by John Denver.

I had "Rocky Mountain High" the first time I visited Denver. It came with being lethargic, headache, nausea and diarrhea. Now I know to start drinking tons of water at least 48 hours before I go to that elevation.

Yep, we had to leave this morning, I had altitude sickness pretty bad. Funny it took 5 days. I only slept a few hrs at night, then had to get up. I would breathe very shallow, try to sleep and immediately wake, I was a wreck. Went to the hospital saw a real good Dr. they called it 'Doc of the day' she was super, the nurse said I was very lucky getting her. She said 40% or so get it, even athletes. Your breathing is rapid, then slow, your brain can't regulate because of the altitude.
I was given medicine and oxygen, I finally got a nights sleep, we left the next morning, and are back down at 5,000 feet in Loveland, not no problems at all. Severe cases lungs fill with fluid, legs swell and you die... or can die.

Ozz,
Glad to hear you feel better now. I live at 6400 and have felt uncomfortable in Estes Park. I only got altitude sickness once, but that was above 14000 on top of Pikes Peak. DW and I have found that if we camp below 8500 we are fine. If you get tired of Loveland, come on back to your old stomping grounds near Woodland Park at South Meadows campground or even Mueller State Park.

Yes, I liked Mueller, we stopped there on the way back from Cripple Creek. I'll have to look into South Meadows.
Right now, we are thinking of exploring the Loveland area, then heading for Wyoming, I think it's less than a hundred miles to the state from here. Then up to Yellowstone probably, haven't been there.

Hi again, Ozz, we stayed last September at the Colter Bay Village RV Park in the Grand Tetons. We have a friend there (from another forum) who is a boat captain (workcamper), and we really enjoyed staying there. It is an easy drive on up to Yellowstone. In fact, we did not stay in Yellowstone but drove up from Colter Bay. Colter Bay has become one of our favorite places. If you should happen to stay there be sure to look up Jim B at the marina. We took a very enjoyable cruise on the lake in his boat. His wife works in the Marina office and store. Her name is Joan.
Edited to add that JimB is already at Colter Bay again this year and getting the boats ready. There is still a lot of snow and the boats are not running yet, of course, but he will be on the job throughout the Summer.

Thank you. I will write this down. We are resting here in Loveland now for a while while mail and a UPS pkg gets here from my RV warehouse.
