Happy 2955 Owners/Travels

Some of you may remember us from earlier this year. We picked up a left over 2005 2955 from our local dealer. We had a hot water issue: couldn't get hot water to kitchen at all whether on city water hook up or by pump & could only get hot water in bathroom when using pump. After two weeks at dealer, problem was resolved by changing around a few water lines. We just wanted to let everyone know since then, the Monty has been a blast. We have had a great time camping in it this spring, summer & so far this fall. Monty has been to several local state parks here in KY, she went to Topsail outside of Destin, FL, & she has been to the Smoky Mountains also. All of these trips were trouble free. Well, pretty much except what we have done ourselves trying to get use to everything. We broke the door off the computer desk with the slide out in the Smokies. That trip also cost us a plastic door shelf for the fridge. It was one of those days! A couple of screws fixed the computer desk door. Fridge shelf has yet to be replaced. Maybe better without it! So far, we have truly enjoyed our Monty purchase. She tows better than the 28' 5ver we had before. We are still trying to figure out what to do with all the space we have now. We usually take a 2 week trip to FL over X-mas, but we won't be this year. We are going to have to put the Monty up after one more trip because we have a new baby boy on the way due on Dec 27th!! After 13 years of just the two of us camping, next year, I'll be hauling some toys around. Stepping on them, tripping over them, & trying to find a place to put them. This should take up the empty space.
I want to thank everyone that has every been involved with the MOC site, from creating it, monitoring it & posting on it. I was on here getting ready to post a question. I did a search before, bam! Someone already posted the answer on how to cover the skylight over the shower (Can't sleep past daylight with sun in your eyes), & capping off the water lines if you plan on not having a washer/dryer unit in the Monty.
Thanks to everyone for posting!

Congratulations neighbors!!! Sounds like you need to reconsider that washer/dryer though. Will make those baby clothes and bedding easy without leaving the confines of the new baby carriage!!!!!!
We are going to Destin for Thanksgiving at Topsail if the holiday ever gets here, the waiting is the hardest part. Whenever you get a chance, send us a PM with details on the Kentucky parks you visited, we are always up for a short weekend run, we are only a half hour from Ashland. BTW, If you bought the unit new and have the warranty, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't cover the fridge shelf, I would at least try the dealer.

it is good to hear that all of the initial difficulties worked their way out. And congratulations on that little one headed your way! A sweet little Christmas baby . And there is no better way to raise a little one than with those times spent in the Monty. We are recent empty nesters, and our kids often recall their best childhood memories were camping together and family vacations. In fact, with the last one married, they requested we return to a childhood camping favorite in Deer Creek Colorado this year .... and we did a a few weeks ago. They are planning next years trip already .

Glad your 2955RL is working out for you. We like ours a lot also and have had very few problems in over 5000 miles. Congrats on the upcoming addition to your family.

Our '05 2955RL is in storage right now as we, too, expect a grandson any day!!! Like you, we've found that the Monty tows great. We've done 41 states in 3 seasons, and almost 30k miles. Loving retirement!! Plan to meet friends in FL in late Jan. after our granddaughter's birthday. Monty has been mostly trouble free, but as you said, MOC has helped solve most problems...like frozen pipes this spring in CO! Enjoy!!!
