Directions to 09 NE Rally Byron, NY

Directions to the 2009 NE Rally.
Address: Southwoods RV Resort
6749 Townline Road (route 262)
Byron, NY 14422
Phone: (585) 548-9002
E-Mail: scu74@aol.com

If you are less than 5 Miles from camp grounds and taking the short cut roads, WATCH THE R&R Crossings, they are rough. Route 262 is ok, but does have a incline.
  • Thurway tavel From East - exit number 47 for Le Roy, N.Y. Enter on I-490 East (only way to go) and get off at next exit turning left on route 33A (west). At stop light (1/2 mile) turn right on route 19 north. Take next left route 262 west. Travel 4.65 miles to the campgrounds on your left. Note: the railroad tracks about a half mile up the road from the turn onto 262 are smooth but have a rise to them so slow down.
  • Thurway tavel From West - exit number coming from the West you can exit at Batavia number 48. Turn right on route 98 (North) to route 262 East. After the four way caution in Byron about two miles east of town on your right.
  • From Harrisburg, PA. – North on US 15 to north on I 390 in New York. Exit 10 off 390 left on Route 20 west. Just West of Avon take Route 5 west to Le Roy and route 19 North in Le Roy. Left on route 262 at Bergen. Travel 4.65 miles to the campgrounds on your left. Note: the railroad tracks about a half mile up the road from the turn onto 262 are smooth but have a rise to them so slow down.

Jim and Vickie just arrived. Jim reminded me of the "UNDERPASS" on 63 at Piffard, NY. The label says 12'11" but it is over 14'. New York for some reason measured that bridge clearance from the center of the axle to the bottom of the bridge. Route 63 is a major route for trucks and they go through with no problem. Jim crawled under also with no problem. So, if you come from the South East and get off 390 at exit (7) onto 63 West you will have no problem with the bridge at Piffard.

NOTE: Some of NY bridges heights are "ACTUAL" so if it says actual then believe it and do not try to squeak under.
  • From Erie, PA. – If you are not traveling the N.Y. State Thruway get on US 20 and go East. You can take US 20 or the southern US 20A to route 19 North. Left on route 262 at Bergen. Travel 4.65 miles to the campgrounds on your left. Note: the railroad tracks about a half mile up the road from the turn onto 262 are smooth but have a rise to them so slow down.
  • From Oswego, N.Y. – Route 104 to Rochester. (Pick your choice to get on the west side of Rochester) picking up I490 west to exit 2 turning right on route 33A (west). At stop light (1/2 mile) turn right on route 19 north. Take next left route 262 west. Travel 4.65 miles to the campgrounds on your left. Note: the railroad tracks about a half mile up the road from the turn onto 262 are smooth but have a rise to them so slow down.
