2nd awning to be installed 12/20!

So excited, I'm having a second awning installed on the Monty on 12/20! I decided to give Camping World a second chance, after receiving a deal I couldn't refuse from their Greenwood, In. location (everything free). They are trying to redeem themselves for a dangerous brake job that was performed in August. They will be installing the awning on the large door side slide which should give us around 27' of shade now! I have been pretty bummed out since putting her into winter dormancy so I'll be able to enjoy 1 last short trip before the end of the year. So what if I'm heading in the wrong direction (north). Merry Christmas to my Monty! I'm sure we'll love the extra outside living space. Tim

We have the second awning and use it a lot. That is the sunny side when we are parked in Florida for the winter and it makes a good 10 degrees difference temperature wise. Also, we set out there in the evenings and yak with the neighbors.

We have awnings for our two windows there, wish we'd thought of doing one whole slide awning.

Are you having a manual or electric awning installed? We are contemplating adding an awning and we are trying to determine if an electric awning will fit properly. Our concern is the awning arms may be too low to walk under when extended.

Your are right Bob, I extend the side arms out to the ground and tie it down while in the south. This does give us a lot of room to use under the awning. However, an electric awning would be easier to put away when you get a lot of wind coming.

We considered the electric but decided on the manual awning so we can extend the arms to the ground and get them out of the way when walking under it. If windy conditions are in the forecast then I'll just leave it rolled up until calmer conditions arrive. Tim
