Sailun s637
Will S637 fit on a 16x6 rim or do they have to be 16x16.5? I've think i read the Goodyear 614RST will.

Will they or should they. I have them on my 6X16's and have not thought twice about doing so. Great tire so far.

Me too, on 16x6 rims this past Saturday. They did require quite a bit weight to balance. Boy they sure are heavy trying to put back on the studs! Very Happy

Hopefully the tire professional knew when balancing the tire/wheel assembly to use a lug centric wheel adapter rather than the much more commonly used hub centric one. Using a large amount of weight is a pretty sure sign they didn't.

We are looking to replace tires. We are looking at ST235/80R16 G rated Saluin S637T. Are we to look for Trailer tire or truck tire? Are we to look for a G rated truck tire or a G rated trailer tire? I have read the below posts and have a feel for what to get but want to clarify.
We have a Montana 3575MK
fifth wheel 38+ feet

If you look at the part numbers for the S637 trailer and the truck they are the same.

I think they are the same now as stated earlier. If I remember correctly they used to be non compliant in a dually application and were listed as single weight rating. Now it seems that they have a single and dual tire rating. When we were at an RV show in the Phoenix area I noticed that SOB fifth-wheels were putting them on their rigs at the factory.

I have dealt with DISCOUNT TIRES for 30 years, Have always been happy.
They have the G614 aT $323 each
When I asked about the Saluins G637.....
was told they do not handle them .....
Where is everyone getting their G637?
Do you have a concern about available in case of failure.
i am in Dallas Texas area.

I bought (5) S637's from Simpletire.com and they were delivered to my tire store in Fayetteville, NC in 4 days. ($771 delivered price). Very impressed with them after getting rid of Marathon Chinabombs

Shortly after trailer purchase, thanks to forum info, I replaced all (5) Trailer Kings with Sailun S637's through my local tire supply. Cost for tires, metal stems and install - $135 per tire.

offroad71, you don't say what year your Montana is. If you go under your rig and check on the rim of the tires you can see if they will handle the G rated, 110 psi tires. It should be stamped on one of the spokes of the rim or on the rim itself. If you have 85 psi rims the G rated 614 or 637 will fit BUT you will not be able to inflate them to the 110 psi suggested pressure.

Replaced Trailer Kings with Sailun 215/75R17.5 Load Range H Sailun S637 from trailertiresandwheels.com. Went with the H load range as they were only $200 more than the G. Anybody wants some very lightly used Trailer King 235/16 8 stud for cheap?

Morning, Just put Sailun 637s - 16" on the trailer. Happy so far - twice as heavy as the Trailer King's we took off! Set of 4 = $635 w/ steel stems (mounted). My dealer told me they did not balance trailer tires. Thought that was strange, but OK.
So two questions: one, does this (no balance) sound normal? Two, has anyone used the balance beads in their tires? I was on another forum and people were saying they used them and like em. Comments???
Thanks
Steve

We have the stock aluminum rims and get the tires balanced always. I get them balanced normally, and don't see the need to try to get them lug centricly balanced, as they are machined true, unlike some steel wheels that don't have a true center hole. I also think that the heavier tires make it even more important to get them balanced.

You should always balance your rv tires . The only tires that are not always balanced is utility trailers and some low-boy trailers. The vibration from your tires is not good for your content and some people use there rv's thousands of miles each year compared to other trailers. I would think not balancing would be hard on your wheel bearings also.

Gentlemen
I agree but this tire guy was very sure. But I am going to have it done. Just makes sense to me
Thanks for the feedback.

When I had the G614's installed, the Goodyear Dealer balanced ours. Standard procedure on everything that comes out of their shop unless specified by the buyer.

Installed Sailun 637s on my Montana in April 2016 for $148.00 per tire plus mounting/balancing at Big O Tires. Took 1 day to order/receive the tires from their distributor. Tires were balanced just like the 2 sets of tires on my previous SOB. Great tire IMO!
