Dometic awning question

New 2020 Montana High Country with a Dometic awning that will not shut tight against unit. Dealer states it is normal because the awning doesn’t have springs? Image shows about 1” separation from unit. Anyone else have this? Thanks

It looks like your awning is *NOT* rolling up square judging by the overlapped ends. The arms won't close all the way due to non-square roll up. This is not uncommon, due to wind, and easily corrected. Here is a previous discussion about this problem.

Yep what Carl said. Been there and have to realign every year as my summer spot can get very windy.

I may be wrong, but in the photo it appears the awning rail might be mounted below the top line of the awning roller. This would definitely stop the awning rails from fully closing against the side.
