Window screen removal - Montana Owners Club

Anyone have a simple easy way to remove the window screens. I have been tasked to was the inside of the windows. Some of the larger screens come off fairly easily. Some of the smaller ones seem do be there for the duration. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yes! I'd like to know how to get them out as well. When we bought the camper and had a 2 hr class about how everything worked I asked this and they said they don't come out.

Have the same problem, the one over the couch that is an emergency exit window, I can move it about 1/8th of an inch sideways, but could not get it out. Guess I'll clean that one from the outside??? Have not tried the side windows around the bed. Have not tried the one beside the dinette table, but have been able to get most of the other ones out. But, it is scarry, fraid I will bend them. If I did not want to get the windows behind I would just clean the screens with a brush (Which by the way works really great on the screens on the vents and the door.)

Hope someone else can give us hints.

We removed ours last year for spring cleaning. I had a hard time figuring it out as well. I'd describe them as being spring-loaded, where you press in and pull out at the same time. You push it against the frame like you are trying to push it into the wall, and while pushed in, pull it out. I don't know how better to describe this motion.

Try lifting the screen frame from the bottom, there will be resistance from the retaining tabs.

I just did this a couple weeks ago. Push fairly hard UP against the bottom of the screen, and as you are, lift OUT at the bottom, and you will feel those little mini leaf springs in the bottom of the window well come over the lip.. they actually don't come in and out too bad, but the slider windows are easier.the only one I haven't tried removing is the escape hatch cover up in the bedroom... didn't get that far in my window cleaning I guess.

I have the 2003 3280RL with dual pane windows and cant get the slider screen out from beneath the large back window. What is the trick, I know that it must come out somehow??

just tried to remove one on my 3500 RL. Did not have much resistance when I lifted up on the screen and it moved up enough to just pull it out with no resistance.

We found that if you wipe the screen with a damp microfiber cloth the screen will be pretty clean and you don't even have to take it off. Give it a try you'll be surprised.

Dennis and Carol, did you get the screens off? Those smaller ones can be pretty stubborn but they will come off. Sometimes a screwdriver to pry with can help. Just be careful not to damage them. I think some of ours will slide to one side (or up) just a hair and that makes it easier to get them out.

You can also clean the screens with "tack cloth", but you still really need to get them off to do the entire job - glass included.

I have double pane windows and I got all my small screens out and they are staying out. Those little tiny ones on the narrow windows beside the rear recliners are silly IMO and I don't know when you would use them. You just have to feel them out as you lift and twist on them gently and they will come. The main screen door and the big windows provide all the ventilation you need so the little tiny sliders are not that necessary to us.
