Not a single floor plan

Just got back from the RV show in the RGV. Looked at all the Montana's. All had the residential frig and all the bathrooms were in a small room. Bring back the bath room layout like in my 3150RL and I might consider a newer one. Of course talking to the Montana rep there was a complete waste of time.

Guess we will keep it.

A would like a 32 foot RL with 3 slides, guess that’s out of the question. I’ll keep my old 323 RL Hidh Country. I like it anyway. O well.

After traipsing through virtually dozens of various Forest River as well as many of the Thor/Keystone 5ers including every Montana my truck was capable of hauling, we ended up with the 343RL High Country. This was mostly due to the fact we didn't want an island kitchen but one with a real counter, a full bathroom along with big a pass through basement. Our last 5er was a Glendale Titanium which had a real counter but only a mediocre size basement for our traveling necessary 'treasures'.

Yup, saw some with enough under storage to make them so overweight, wondering how they are going to tow with so much weight behind the axles? But, the pin weight is light enough a 3/4 truck can "tow" them.

Did you look at a 3810ms or 3811ms, Big bath and storage is why we chose a 3811ms

Our previous trailer (SOB) has an awesome floor plan and more interior storage space than our Monty, but we traded it because we had so much trouble with it. After four years of ownership, all the bugs were still not worked out.

We like some of the features of this new trailer a lot better, so it's a matter of compromise. Also, so far this trailer appears to be of higher quality.

You won't catch me towing a 42' long triple axle 5th wheel with a 3/4 ton!!!!!

Since we don't tow anywhere with full tanks and a motorcycle doesn't weigh anymore than full tanks I can't see where it is going to be a big issue. BUT you can't put a motorcycle in a conventional pass thru storage now can ya!

I'm not running down other floor plans, just talking up the new ones! There are about as many different viewpoints on what the ideal floor plan would be as there are buyers and owners of RVs. To each his own. I'm just trying to make sure the word gets out on these new basement garage units so that people that have never heard of them but would be interested know they are out there.

I would very much like to see some more variations on the theme particularly if someone started building one that ran the entire length of the 5th wheel up to the cutout (IE: front to rear). Now that would be one BIG pass thru!! Don't start with the "it can't be done". Safer to say "it hasn't been done YET".......

Although we are new to the rv world, we do look at the new models as they come out and I totally agree with you jlb27537, we purchased our MHC 318RE because of the split bathroom (separate bath/toilet with sink) and absolutely love it. We also have looked at the new Montana's, Montana HC's, SOB's and it appears that none of the new floor plans include a split bath in a less than 35' or in any length. Very disappointing but I guess the all in one bathrooms are either more popular or cost less to manufacture.

Not everyone "tows" with a 3/4 ton truck.

The bathroom configuration of the 3810MS along with the walk-in closet helped us decide to move up from our HC352RL. Also the ceiling height in the 3810 is significantly higher than most other configurations. Because we do a bit of dry camping, we decided against the residential frig.

Looking at those new High Country Floor plans.....do you really need dual sinks in an RV bathroom?

What's next an attack on 50" TVs and theater seating?

Ha ha ha what only 50 inch TV ? Was just at the Tampa show this week and in and out of just about every mid level and up 5er there. Can't remember which one but at one of them the salesman overheard some negative comments about the unit & said to the trailer full of us browsing "what the 65 inch TV isn't big enough" ? I responded that it wasn't the TV that was the issue it was the disgusting workmanship that was the problem. He continued to focus on how their TV was one of the biggest............ If your shopping for an RV and the TV is the focus hang on & bend over your are about to be taken............. Wasn't many there that impressed me at all, I will say the HC's appear to be the higher end unit now over the Montana, not sure WTF that is all about....

Well if nothing else, this thread points out that each person has their own thoughts as to what is important in an RV. Obviously why there are so many floor plans and they still can please everyone.......

We could talk for days about which layout and options are the most important but truth is it all boils down to personal taste in the end.

As for us we are very happy with our HC 381TH floor plan.

Everyone has to make their choice. If you are happy with it cool! I love options whether it be coach, truck or boat.

"Need" is an interesting word. No, but my wife wanted dual sink hence we got the 321MK. Love the floor plan! I got my desk; she got her sinks

I thought the same thing about the twin sinks in our 3402RL. We have actually fount it to be quite useful when both of us are getting ready to go somewhere or both of us using them in the morning.
