Ford Extended warranty
I have decided to purchase an extended warranty for my 2005 Ford F350. I requested information on Ford basecare, it will extend my warranty to 60,000 miles. Question, the paperwork I received from Ford indicates that the warranty payments are made to a company called Budco. Does anyone have experience with this or should I just pay it off. The payment plan is for 0% financing, either way making payments or paying all of it up front it is same amount of money, $2,538.70 or $253.87 down and 17 payments of $134.40 per month. Thought and advice from my sage friends is always welcome.........Pete

Your 6.0 diesel has an automatic warranty on the main engine and emission system out to 100,000 miles or 5 years. I believe there is a $100.00 deductible after the 3 yr 36,000 mile mark.

Pete,
I cannot comment on the Ford, but I bought the 7 yr 100,000 mile extended warranty from GM back in 2005. They also offered the free 18 month financing and I took it. My total monthly billing was $132.50 a month, plus how could you go wrong using their money free of charge for 18 months. =) Just my opinion....

Folks as long as we're talking about extended service agreements let me comment on a current issue. I was told back in 02 and again in 04 that they "ford" had all of my documentation so no worry about reciepts. Today dealer is gone (30 plus years in business) new dealer gone. My service agreement is still enforce but without docs useless, thus keep all docs cancelled checks are no goood at proving maintenance work done on a timely basis. Now I'm having a outside shop put in a new engine for 4000.00 whereas ford started at 6000. but came down to 4350.00 for 3 yr 75k mileage warranty. Outside shop has unlimited mileage 3 yr and it includes sales tax ford still wanted sales tax on top of 4350. I took the explorer over to the outside shop and told them to do the job. So learn from my mistakes trust no one (even the company IE FORD) KEEP ALL RECEIPTS canceled checks are not an acceptable reciept. ps this may be my last ford product. Sad as I have many family members working for Ford today.

I had a certified ford with the 75000 mile warranty and it took care of everything. I had no deductible and wish I had that kind of warranty with my Cadillac. I will get another ford when I trade again.
