new 30# regulator
Talked to Marshal Controls last week about the C621 -1249 propane regulator that they no longer make.
Talked to Mark Smith and he said that the new replacement part will be available in October of this year.
I haven't had any problem with mine but think I will get the new regulator just as a precaution. He also said that not all of the red regulators are 18# ones. He said that the 'bad' regulator is red on top and silver on the bottom.
My rig is in Montana and I won't see it for two more weeks so I am unsure as to the one I have installed.

Did he say what changes are going into the replacement, or why the old one was discontinued?

He gave no reason for the new regulator. I didn't think to ask.

Just went out and checked ours. It is the 18 psi model, but completely red. So I am assuming it will be okay and not need replacing????

The only risk you run Jackel1959 is that the 18# may not be strong enough under some conditions. Since I had read this so many times even from MOCers and I didn't want to worry about it, I upgraded my 18# to a 30#. I just checked the 30# in my rig and it is completely red just like the 18# I replaced.
