Removal of Tube TV from Entertainment Center

Hello all,
I have a 2006 3400RL that has an old tube TV in the entertainment center. How do you remove it from the cabinet?

Thanks in advance,
ChiefKB

Usually there are a couple of long screws securing the TV to the base. Look underneath when you have the shelf pulled out. Another mounting tactic was to put screws down through the top into the TV case. Well wishes in finding the attachment points.

It's screwed in from the top, and, if I remember correctly, the screws are accessible from the door frame above it. Try sliding a thin knife along the top of the tv, and you will be able to locate the position of the screws. You may even be able to see them with a flashlight.

I can't remember it there are any on the bottom, but several people have pulled the tube unit out, so I expect there'll be more responses to your question. You could also try searching for topics, because there have been several good descriptions of the process.

On our old unit, a 2006 3400RL, we found that there was a long screw in the top of the TV from under the center speaker and two screws from the bottom of the TV (take out the fireplace).

It's like one of those Chinese puzzles, you find hidden screws and screws into plastic, and a step-by-step process to get the thing out.
You just have to dig out the plugs.

The rest of the process is in the link below.
Good luck with it. Oh, I think it is a square driver for the screw-gun to fit the screws.

That's where we found them on our 2005 3400

We were lucky, they pulled out enough so I could get a hacksaw in there.
Got some trim from Home Depot that matched very close and it looks good as new

I pulled my tube type TV out and it had one three inch screw in the side of the TV and two into the bottom but one missed the TV totally and was just sticking up beside the TV when I pulled out the tuber!

Just put a flat screen in my '06 2955RL. There were two long square head screws from the bottom and one from the side near the top. That was one heavy son of a gun to get out of there. With all that weight saved, I can carry more beer now!!!!

Wayne, put a cooler behind that flatscreen and you you can stock your beer there! I'm emailing you with a question or two!

We have a 2006 3400RL and I just removed the old 26" tube TV. (70 lbs.) Installe a 32" Panasonic LCD. I had to cut the sides of the cabinet out to gain the added space. Installed a shelf and made my own brackets to hang the TV. The screws were just as OZZ's photos in the earlier post. It is not hard to get the fireplace out nor the speaker to gain access to that screw.
