2007 Big Sky Stackable Washer/Dryer

Hi, We are in the process of pricing out a Big Sky and options. We have been told the stack washer/dryer that comes in the Big Sky is a Whirlpool. Is anyone familiar with this unit. The units most often mentioned on MOC are Splendide Ariston, Kenmore and Majestic. The price for the Whirlpool set is $2475 or supposedly $1795 dealer cost. This price seems a little costly to us. Would it be more cost effective to purchase and install after-market. What are the benefits of having the units installed in the Big Sky at the factory.

The Big Sky that we looked at did not have a dryer vent installed, should an external dryer vent be standard.

Hi Karen, and welcome to the Forum. Installation of Whirlpool units at the factory would be new news. The original factory installs were Ariston as shown in the brochure. If they are Ariston, an external dryer vent is required (they are not ventless).

The Big Sky you looked at may have been a Dealer install, who knows.

$1795 would be a good price installed at the factory. We bought the Ariston system at Camping World for $1,400 (cheapest I could find if you consider shipping), but I have to install. The Big Sky factory install includes an elevated shelf for the dryer and a vent, so it would be worth the price you were quoted, in my opinion.
