Leaking Toilet

I have an Aqua-Magic style ll toilet that is leaking a from the base of the petal. I watched their video on how to remove the petal but there is nothing on how to fix a leak like this. First I am not sure if I have to remove the toilet (please say I don't. or if I even have to replace a valve? it only leaks when I depress the petal. when I felt around the back side of the petal I got some calcium crystals so there may just be a build of them that needs to be cleaned out???

Sounds like the O-ring on the water valve is leaking. You will have to remove the pedal, probably best to replace it while you are at it, then you will have access to the water valve. How old is this toilet? Still under warranty? If you have crusty buildup behind the pedal, this has been leaking for a while. You may find it easier to just pull the toilet to make repairs, two nuts holding it to the floor flange, and the water inlet fitting. The kits for the pedal and the water valve both include a floor gasket. I had so much trouble with ours, that I just replaced it with a Dometic 310. So far, it seems to be a much better design. Good luck. Parts list at http://www.thetford.com/HOME/PARTS/P...2/Default.aspx

Hi

I am not sure if our toilet is the same as yours but ours has a rubber hose from the foot valve to the back top of the porcelain bowl.

My guess would be to get a mirror and have a look at the valve and anything attached to it to see just where the water is coming from.

Had the same problem, except we flooded. Pulled the toilet, looked at the valve, and decided to replace with a Dometic 320.

Ok well I found a repair kit at the local RV dealer for just under $15.00. Pulled the toilet and replaced all the seals. Works great now no leaks and DW thinks I an a genius. However she says I stink and can't come in the house till I take a shower???
Again thanks for all the great information it helps.
