Assuming your rig is preplumbed, water and drainage already in place. If installing a vented system (highly recommend), then you will have to mark your wall studs and cut a thru hole for the vent and install a vent cover.

Does the vent go out the side of the unit or the bottom? Does it matter?

Is the ventless that much less efficient for only occasional use?

Vent goes out the back on our install straight out through the wall.

Those that have the unvented unit seem to express a lot of displeasure with them where as we love our vented unit and now wouldn't rv without one.
Our dealer installed the vent, the hard part to come to grips with was drilling a hole in our new unit.

The space for the w/d on our unit is very tight and if the vent goes out the back it would be facing North on an inside wall. I suspect it could be routed thru the bathroom cabinets down thru the floor or we could to the side wall with it. Reason I ask is that I really worry about water intrusion if we go thru the side of the unit. Lot less chance of that if we go thru the floor. But if we go thru the floor will there be an issue with the heat being captured under the unit and getting excessively hot?

If it is just an issue of the drying taking longer with the ventless that isn't much of an issue for us as we would only rarely use the unit anyway......and ventless does save us from cutting any holes in our brand new unit....

The difficulty for me was getting it through the bedroom door. I had to remove part of the door frame. I made a platform to set it on the height of the bottom of the floor in it’s closet and slid it in. Mine is not vented. I would very much recommend the vented one. The non-vented one just takes forever to do a load.

We have a ventured unit in the bedroom and love it. It is vented out to the side wall of our unit and we have never had any issues with it. We've been is a couple of BIG rainstorms when we were in the south and still no problem, no leaks. IMHO vented is the only way to go.

Getting it into the bedroom and the specific cabinet will be a real issue for us too. The one down side to the 381TH is the bedroom is "cozy". It will take some real engineering to get the w/d slid into the cabinet they setup for it as there are only inches between the end of the bed and the cabinet.....

I have the vented type, installed it myself. like others have said drilling a hole is the side of the RV is a little scary. just make sure you find out where the studs are so you don't drill though them. Mine was easy because we have a hall closet that the washer dryer go into. also I could put a side by side if I wanted, I opted for all in one so I still have storage space next to it. so far we love having it.

I have a 3791 and cannot find the supposed pre plumbed wash er drier location. I do not think I will use it but would like to know where it is. I will have to find it for freeze protection if nothing else. I looked in owners manual and some floorplans on internet but still don't know where it is.

Do all of those models come pre-plumbed for washer?

Didn't think of that they may route the vent hose differently in that setup.

All come pre plumbed for water and drain. It doesn't matter if it legacy package or not.

We have a 3160RL also and our vent is in the same spot. Ours is cream colored. I like yours better! The black looks better!
