12 VOLT or SOLAR FRIG FAN
We're in Mesa AZ where it has a tendency to get hot. I would like to install a fan on the outside back of the frig for cooling.
Has anyone done this same thing & where did you buy the fan. What type, 12 volt or solar ?

If I was to do it I'd go 12v, but we winter in AZ and summer in KS frequently our rig is in 100 degree temps for weeks at a time. We haven't added anything and our Norcold works fine and is a year older model.

Well some folks are having the opposite problem in the cold weather. If your fridge is in a slide it will have two vented doors, I would not be surprised if it has fans just under the cooling fins inside the upper vent.
If the fridge is not in a slide and vents out the top, it "should" vent the heat away sufficiently anyway. There are many different fans available, the type that is in a computer can be found both 120V and 12V and are quiet and move a lot of air.
Lots of possibilities for fans.

Larry, I'd say you could go with either one but if I'm not mistaken you already have one fan back there to blow on the cooling coils but I have heard of numerous MOC members adding an additional fan to the back of the refrig just to draw extra heat out of the back of the frig. The problem with the solar unit might be a place to mount the solar panel solid enough to take the vibration of the Monte going down the road. I have seen them however that unplug from the solar collector and the collector can be stowed in travel. Since you're in Arizona check out the RV Show coming up in Quartzite for your fans because they have some really good prices there.

I have two 12V fans that came with the unit in the upper compartment. they did not provide enough air flow. I added a 110 V muffin fan in the lower compartment, there is a 110v plug
already there. works great.

You can buy kits to do exactly what you're asking about. The one we had in our old TT even had a thermostat that would turn the fan on when it reached a set temp back there. I added a switch inside so I could turn it off when not need or when in storage.
