Joyce is happy!

The two cabinets we have over the Convection Oven have bothered Joyce since we bought the rig. Since they don't stay up on their own and she is shorter than me it's a pain for her getting things in and out. We took a friend RV shopping the other day and while she was talking with the finance guy I toured the parts department. I found some plastic struts for $4.00 a pair so I thought what the heck. Installed them and now I'm a hero again until I do something to screw up. Unfortunately that shouldn't take long and then I'll have to find another mod to fix things. By the way, I followed the instructions to the letter on the first one and it wouldn't work. Had to install the lower end an inch lower on the door frame to get them to work right.

Yeah, except 1 "Oh Crap" wipes out 10,000 brownie points!

True that and, as you know, I'm capable of numerous "Oh Craps". I'm just happy that the "Brownie Points" on this deal were so inexpensive. Not normally the case.

I saw the plastic struts at Camping World, but since the 3750 has eight of the cabinets that open vertically, I opted to install the Camping World metal struts on each vertical cabinet, per a previous forum post. Here are the ones we used:
Cabinet Door Strut
I will add that it is a must to pre-drill the screw holes, and it also seems that there were other installations that had the multiple screw brackets on both ends. Ours are working fine two years after installation. And lastly, if Momma is happy, then everyone is happy!!

John installed struts for our over the microwave cabinets a couple of years ago and I still think it's one of my favorite mods. He still has his brownie points!

Thank goodness our 3585SA doesn't have any cabinet doors that are hinged at the top...not a one!
