I have the bully dog exhaust brake, and auto loc trans. unit by bully dog also on my 2000 Ford F350. Not a problem one with going down the mountains in the Big Horn, Yellowstone and out west. Total cost was $1650 in parts plus the cost of installation ( I had other work being done so I cant tell you exactly the cost factor on the brake and auto loc installation). Its not cheap but its a piece of mind that was great on my trip out west. Best money I ever spent on after market accessories.

There are several good exhaust brake maufactures. I have the PacBrake PRXB on my 06 CTD and it works flawlessly. You will save your service brakes and have more control. I purchased my brake on line and installed it myself. I have had three PacBrakes on different TV's and they all did their job well. I have found their customer support to be excellent.

I have a 2002 Ford F250 7.3. About 6 mo ago I had a BD Exhaust Brake and a BD TorqLoc installed. In the first week pulling a trailer with the system on my motor shut down when pulling up to a stop sign and I had to restart it. I went back to the dealer and they checked the system and reset it. Again last week pulling a trailer with the system on the motor shut down pulling up to a stop sign. I have not been back to the dealer yet to see what is going on. Anyone else had this happen?

I have the same exact equipment that you do and have had it now for about 7 mo's. and have not had this happen. My first guess is that the computer in your truck is picking up some sort of code or something of that nature and it is what is shutting it down. I would call BD tech support on this and ask them. They are excellent with tech support in my opinion. There # is 855-698-3242

I just bought the Banks SpeedBrake and IQ system. p/n 55444, for my 2500HD, $1,285.00, it's being delivered tomorrow, and I'll install it. YOu can get the stand alone brake system from forum venders, with a dash switch for braking levels, for about $700. It doesn't look to difficult, on the Duramax forums guys are claiming install time of anywhere from 1 to 5 hours, the 5 hour guy had no mechanical experience at all. It's all electronic with harnesses supplied, no mechanical work to install. I called the local GM dealer and asked about warranty, he told me as long as no system or part failure is directly attributed to the unit, there is no problem with warranty.
