Take that, you theiving heathens

We finally bit the bullet and decided to shell out more funds for hopefully what we think will be a more secure storage lot for the rig. After the break-in fiasco we have located a fully fenced facility (even has barbed wire atop the chainlink), keypad entry, fully lit, video monitoring to be installed soon and someone actually lives inside of the mini-storage lot in a trailer! Took the Montana there today and we have a spot directly under a very bright streetlight with the rig being plainly visible from the main road which passes next to the facility. The additional funds amounted to an increase in the fees of $15 a month for a total of $45 a month. I definitely cannot complain this time.....time will tell though.

Wow! That is a good price. I'm paying $105 for the same thing, except live-on-premise, but they have a night guard.

well I can see you dont live in Los Angeles for sure. the average spot is 145- 175 per mo. in my area. its good that they will monitor the park soon with CCTV. but dont think that that barb wire and razor ribbon will stop them stealing scum bags, they cut the chain link fence and then walk right in, just like they do at my storage lot. but I do wish you good luck at this new place with NO events in the future.

Glad you were able to work things out. Is it close to where you live?

A small investment in a mongoose to keep in the trailer would be an additional layer of security. The girls could take turns feeding it.

8.00 per foot at the local County fairgrounds for heated indoor storage and security. They offered me the discounted price of 300.00 per month Sure glad we can keep it at home and winter in Florida..

Bingo sounds good, maybe this will prevent the low life's from taking and not working for it. We just ordered a hidden camera system for the stick house. Last winter we didn't have to worry exnavydiver and his better half (Betsy) Beau and Murphy we on site. We also have a indoor security system which will dail up to 8 numbers. And there is some other things that shouldn't be discussed on a public form, just beware. One dealership we know of had several LCD's stolen, he did have the high wire and barbed wire tops, they just cut the wire. Then he went to guard dogs, that week-end no TV's missing but lots of bloody jeans, so problem solved. GBY....

Makes me appreciate the parking space (full hook) next to the house!

We are paying $125 a month for covered (but not enclosed) parking with electric. Chain link fence with barbed wire and keypad entry.
Have plans for future parking facility at the house. But that means widening the driveway first as I can't get in without getting into my neighbors yard due also to a narrow street.

Hey Bill,
18 miles from the house, not as convenient as where we had it, but still close enough to check up on. It is right by the Flea Market so Cathy can check on it a couple of days a week on the way to her store there.

Well it makes me sick that I lost a detailed post because I pressed "subscribe" before pressing submit. I'll keep it short. We store with friends for free. We are very lucky to have such friends.

We live in a gated community and pay $10 per month storage out in the open. I'm on a list to get covered storage, but someone has to move or sell their RV. May be a while. $15 for covered storage.

I'm not happy paying $250.00 ( it is better than $2500) but the facility is well secured and 4 blocks from the police station. But above all I like Huntington Beach.

We store our trailer in a commercially-run non-active limestone mine that is under an entire mountain near our house in Pennsylvania.
Cost is $30/month. It is a constant 54 degrees Farenheit year-round and has only two entrances, both guarded.
It's amazing how many items are stored in there.

Larry,
I saw some of those storage mines years ago. What a perfect place for storage.

I am blessed to be able to store mine onboard a military base. $25 a month is a great bargin and the armed marines on the gate don't cost anything extra.

Sorry to hear you had a robbery bingo.

Hey Bill,
A minor inconvenience and I actually like the new storage lot a lot better. Out of bad things come good, I guess. BTW,Where have you been hiding?? Haven't seen you posting in a while. Hope you consider joining us in Sandusky or Hillsville or both next August, we missed you both this year!!

I never realized folks were paying so much for storage. I like having ours in plain sight here at the end of our driveway.
