GulfShores Alabama Campgrouds??

We are headed to Gulfshores in a couple of weeks and are looking for a nice RV campground ( roomy, near on on water, clean, lots to do). I have the woodalls out but was wondering if anyone has recommendations. I have stayed at a 5W before and wound up in a trailer park with a lot of full timers. (should have read the woodalls legend, will not make that mistake again) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am new to this and still on a steap learning curve.
Thanks
James

I like Gulf Shores state park. I also like on the "canal" side. its less then a 5 minute walk to the beech. That is if the storms hasn't hit it to hard this time. I was there in feb 2008. Was nice and close to attractions. hope this helps.

Ditto on Gulf Shores. We stayed there last summer. Very big. I think over 400 sites. Great place to ride bikes. Saw signs that said do not feed the gators. But we did not see any.

Gulf State Park for us. Roomy well spaced sites with full services includng 50 amp power. There are many other choices, but the State Park is hard to beat. (Be prepared to see some damaged and dead trees as a result of 2004 Hurricane Ivan).

We liked Gulf Breeze RV Resort but it's ten minutes to the beach. The State Park is nice, too, and a good choice in my opinion. Closer to the water.
