Vacuum cleaner for our High Country

We've been using a ridiculous little shop vac in our campers for years. I got so tired of duck-walking around trying to clean with that useless thing that I finally broke down and bought a dedicated vacuum cleaner for the High Country.

After asking on a couple of FB camper and travel trailer groups I had so many recommendations on the Shark Rocket that I bought one. It's light and fairly easy to handle. And boy, does it ever work great! I tried it in the house first. I'd vacuumed a day previously with my regular Kenmore upright, which I always thought did a pretty good job.

Ha! That little Shark Rocket is amazing. It sucked up a load of dog hair and sand that couldn't possibly have accumulated overnight. It's great, wish I'd gotten it ages ago! If you're in the market for a great, lightweight, inexpensive vacuum cleaner you can't go wrong with a Shark Rocket.

We had the same experience. After using the built in vac that came in the unit and even adding the spinning brush end it couldn't hold a candle to the Shark and the Shark breaks down and stores in the same cabinet the hose for the built-in used.

Here is a link to a website to a company that does vacuum cleaner testing. I personally don't have much faith in Consumer Reports and usually search elsewhere to get my info. In the Monty I'm still using the Dometic vacuum that came with it, sometimes I will bring along and old Hoover Wind Tunnel it's a spare from the house.

The beater bar wares out and they just don't work anymore. We just replaced our vacuum what a difference.

Shark Rocket here also. Great vacuum and easy to store. Sure beats the central vac that came in ours.

Lynwood, beater bars are an inexpencive repair (30 bucks if that) and is as easy as replacing the belt. Having long haired pets I find it necessary to clean the beater bar of debris monthly and replacing it yearly along with the belt is just good routine maintenance. I haven't replaced an upright vacuum for the stick built in 15 years and to be honest I don't spend big bucks for a vacuum. The last one I purchased is when I moved into our new home, it's a Bissell and I think I paid $99.00 for it. The Dometic vac that is built in to the Monty does just an OK job. When it finally dies or I get tired of it I will use my 30 year old Hoover in it. It is small (13" beater bar) and light, gets in all the tight places and is still running strong.

Okay got my interest, but there are several models of the shark rocket. What do you folks have? John

I have the Rocket Ultra Light HV 301. I'm very happy with it. It is priced right around $150 or so. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes a bit more.

We've got the HV 302: https://www.amazon.com/Rocket-Ultra-...s=shark+vacuum
except we got it a good deal cheaper from Sam's club when they put it on sale.

Many thanks for the model numbers, now it is time to check out the stores to see what we find versus online. John
