small oopsy

While fueling today I noticed a 4 inch dimple just below the top of the rail on my truck bed but it was only 6 inches behind the front of the bed. The only thing I can think of is I had to do a very tight turnaround on potholes up in Livingston MT day before yesterday. I don't see any damage to the rig, just a small clean spot under the front left corner of the rig on the rubber strip. The dig looks suspiciously like a rig drop you would find on the rear of the bed rails on a vehicle without a bed saver. Oh well, at least It wasn't a rig drop...

The same thing happened to mine except at the back corner of the bed. I had the rails on it from the tonneau cover. When I was leaving a campground the difference between the campground road and public road must have been too much. Where the rail ended it pushed into the top of the truck bed. Would have cleared had I not had that extra inch of cover rail maybe. I like you didn't notice it until later. Stuff happens.

Sounds like your "pot holes" are about the same size as the ones here in Michigan. When ever I see those huge pot holes I just hope no one is working in them when I pass over. If they get any bigger, we'll have "cones" in the pot holes just like along the roads. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
