No Inflation (BULL)
Went to Home Depot today to buy a 20lb propane exchange. Last time it was $19.95 for a 20lb exchange. Now it is $19.95 for a 15lb exchange. All the prices are the same but you keep getting less and less. It never ends.

It's been 15lbs since the introduction of the OPD valve, they're just finally telling the truth.

The Tractor Supply near us will fill propane tanks and only charge for what they put in. Others will charge you a flat rate by the size of the tank regardless of how much they put in. A true rip-off.

No way am I using one of those tank exchange places because unless you examine the tank you have no idea how old it is. I know the age and condition of my tanks and don't want to exchange for one that will need recertification before it can be filled the next time. Plus I don't recall seeing any place that could exhange 40 Lb tanks anyway.

X2. Plus there also isn't a place to exchange 4.5# tanks so I can't exchange anything I carry.

It's usually a lot cheaper to just find a regular propane sales place, and no not U-haul.

We just filled one of our 30# tanks in Stroudsburg, PA area and they charged $3.50 gal. We only needed 5.5 gal so $19.25. We do not do exchanges for the very reason stated about Blue Rhino only filling up to 15 lbs of fuel in the tanks instead of the full 20 lbs.
Guess it is like thinking you are getting a half gallon of ice cream when you are really getting 1.5 quarts.....still looks like a half gallon, but I know my belly knows the difference!!!!

Last year I bought Rejex it's like a wax for the RV. It was $19.95 for a 16 oz bottle. I just saw it for $19.95 but now it is in a 12 oz bottle. We're starting to see this everywhere. Just an observation. Not looking to start a fight. Also by me they only fill motorhomes by weight, they only fill tanks by size and the charge you for the max size of the tank no matter how much is left. And the exchange tank was for the bar b que. I would never exchange the 5th wheel tanks. John

I use the tanks that came with the Monty and have them filled at the propane dealer by weight!
