We're here in Slidell, LA and getting ready to leave. Having some problems getting the Level Up to retract. If we can't get the jacks up in the next couple of hours, we will be leaving the 5er here and to hell with it!

That happened to us last year when we were in Texas. We were low on hydraulic fluid because there was a small leak. Went to the nearest Auto Parts store and got Dexron transmission fluid and filled the reservoir and that took care of it. Praying that will help. Have you tried resetting the system. You have to unplug the level up mother board mounted in the front compartment for 10 seconds, then plug back in and that resets the system. We got that info from Bob at Lippert when we called them from Texas.

Michael ... it will be a bit messy, but you'll not have to leave your fiver behind ... loosen both lines to each cylinder and pry it up with a bar, tire iron, or 2X4. With both lines loose, it doesn't take much to manually retract them. You'll just have to add fluid and bleed the system when you get to a safer area. Best of Luck ..........
PS tighten all lines while holding the ram up after you get it retracted.

We're back online. We are good and the jacks are up. We're headed for better weather.

It is no fun running from hurricanes with your RV. We did it last summer in Maine. We laid over in Bangor when the late August hurricane hit Vermont and New Hampshire--dodged a bullet and thankful for it. Hope all is well.

We're now in Florida. Need to get some body damage fixed due to a blowout when we were in Texas. It was 112 degrees. My TST warned me so I started slowing down to get to the shoulder. Then, it blew!
As for Isaac, it was mostly a lot of wind and water but nothing bad happened to our 5er. In fact, we know it doesn't leak...
Thanks for thinking of us. We sure appreciate it.

Glad to hear you guys are OK. We were supposed to go to Gulf Shores, AL last week to spend two weeks but with Isaac coming in we headed off to Durango, CO instead. Good choice for us.
