How do you air 'em up?

Tires of course.

12 volt portable compressor?

Small 120VAC unit?

Really long hose from the local gas station?

It's almost impossible to find a place to air 'em up these days and even if you do you can't get a 5er next to it.

Just wondering how ya'll solved this this conundrum.

I have a fairly small Sears 110VAC compressor that will do high pressures, at least 125 psi. I have found that many "air stations" will not pump the higher pressures and are a waste of time and sometimes, money. If enroute, I have a Honda 2000 I could use for emergency power, however, I have not had to use this yet. I know many folks use a 12VDC compressor from Harbor Freight.

Like Phil I have a Sears 110 volt compressor(pumps a lot more air than the 12v), you can't count on the gas stations at all

I have a 12-volt Harbor Freight compressor and a 120-volt 2-gallon compressor. Both work well to air up the tires exactly the way I want them. Plus I have a small 12-volt compressor that I use to air up the air bags for both the truck and our TrailerSaver hitch.

I have a 12 volt harbor Freight compressor too. As far as filling tires remember to use TRUCK stops or any place that handles big trucks. Good luck.

I use a 12 vdc compressor that takes forever I'll probably get a better 12 volt one when the cost comes down.
Cute Boston.

I have a 12v I bought at O'Reilly Auto that takes forever to add a few pounds. But it eventually does get there. Don't think it would if there were much of a leak though.
I also have a 3 gallon 120vac pancake compressor from Harbor Freight bought with coupon for $39.99. Only goes to 100 pounds, but my tires max at 80 so works for me. There is a advertisement and coupon for that price in the back of the current Readers Digest. Also saw it some where else, but forgot where. Otherwise, I saw it on HF web site for $59.99 (I think).
Advertisement also has a coupon for a free small LED flashlight. Pretty good for keeping in the truck for emergency light.

I have a Sears Air compressor 110 volt (Red in color), cost $99.00 bought in 2005 its a 150 psi. My 5er tires are Goodyear G114 17.5's and inflation is a 125 lbs. My Truck is also all Air system, but I highly recomend the Sears compressor. GBY....

I just had air bags installed in my truck with the compressor, gauge and tank kit. They installed a fitting inside of my fuel door that I can attach an included air hose to fill tires if needed. Cost a bit more than an of the shelf 12 volt compressor but it's sure convenient. :-)

Well looks like we are a bunch of Harbor Freight's best customers. I used to live in Alexandria LA. One of the few things I miss about that town is their Harbor Freight store.

Think I'm going looking for a 120VAC unit for now and call roadside assistance if I have to while towing. Don't plan any road trips anytime soon anyway.

I carry a 110v pancake style compressor that sits in the truck bed next to my dual EU2000s. I use the compressor for other things besides airing up the tires so I bring it along for multi-functional purposes. I carry the dual EU2000s for RV backup power and will use one for the compressor when on the road. I just start up a genny, plug in the compressor and get that pressurized. The compressor came with about 40' of hose so I just connect it up and can reach the TV's tires and all the RV's tires. It has come in handy for my tires and caravanners with us as well who need some air.

The service stations stuff either doesn't work, requires quarters, doesn't have enough pressure, is not in a good location or I'm in a line. Bringing my own stuff means I don't have to wait and the equipment can be used for other stuff.

At the stickhouse I even use this gear for airing up other vehicles to make sure this stuff is used and kept running. For me a very good 12v compressor would just be redundant and too specific a tool.

I too have HF's biggest 12v compressor...the one with alligator clamps to hook on the battery...that stays in the Montana. At home I keep an eight gallon, 2 hp AC compressor...also from HF.

Got a 110V Campbell Husfeld that does Ok.Also have a 12V Sears I think, just in case. It is OK for a few pounds but would not want to start from zero with the 12V. Also have a giant sears compressor here at home but it is way to big to carry in the truck or camper.

i removed the compressor from the top of the tank and repiped the air line. the red tank that u buy at homedepot. i have 135 lbs. pressure in about 1 sec. works great w/o the tank. after u remove the tank u can carry the compressor any where u need air. i still can use the compressor to supply air to a nail gun for sm. jobs.

works great.

We have a Husky compresor and I make sure the tires are up before leaving on a trip. We recently put nitrogen in the Montana's tires. They are two years old and probably 12-15 thousand miles. We will just have to wait and see how that works out. If you have a tire that leaks air badly, get it fixed before you have a real problem. We carry the compressor still for the truck and any RV'er that might have a problem. Sood Luck. Have a Good Day

The HF 12VDC compressor has a very limit capacity for air volume--but it will get the job done. I only use my on the road away from 115VAC--I carry a Craftsman 2 gal Compressor for that--does a great job. I have rarely found air service that is accessable on the road. A few RV parks have it--very few. I prefer to handle it with my compressors--I know they work and don't have to do any searching at service stations with the Monty in tow.
