Steps loose

Hi Again,

While towing our Monty, we have found the steps will not stay up. We ended up securing with a bungee cord. Is there a way to increase the tension so they will stay up?

It is brand new and will be reported to the dealer, but you all have such good advise!

Thanks,
Sue & Harv

I had the same problem on the way home from the Service Center last fall. The SC had repainted the steps while doing some other work on the coach. I ended up using a bungee cord to secure them. Since making the 2,300 mile journey home, my stairs now stay up on their own. (Probably had to get a little road dirt in them keep the tension tight)...

I'm looking forward to a solution to this problem too. Has never been an issue until a couple of days ago I noticed the steps out. Put them up and just a few more miles they were back down, again.

Used the bungee cord fix, but would sure like to know what changed or fell off..

I had that very problem on my 3400, I drilled a hole through two parts of the side frame of the steps and put a clevis pin in it when up.

Bill, that is great idea! I have alerted the dealer about the problem and will see what they have in mind before doing it though.
