That is the Max it pulls. Not what it pulls all the time.

That is true as your fridge is operating about one third of the time. You still are going to use a lot of amps in a day.

Battery question

I would like to to do maintenance check on the batteries, I have 2 12v marine new battery that came with my 5er, is it safe to disconnect the battery leads? I am on camp ground connected to shore power I would like to know if that is safe to do. Thanks in advance .

You need to disconnect the shore power also so that converter does not try to charge the battery's! Can't you get the tops of with the cables hooked up.

My 2 batteries are inside a black plastic box with cover I have to unscrew the cover to access my batteries, and the battery lead wires are connected on the box cover it would be easier to access the batteries if I disconnect the lead wires and that’s why I ask if I can disconnect the batt while connected to shore power

If I understand the system right. The 12 VDC system is meant to run off of the battery(ies). Shore power, the converter, and charging from TV supplement the battery(ies). That said you can disconnect the batteries an run off of the converter as long as you do not exceed what the converter puts out. You should not run slides and levelers.

Also remember power is being supplied to cables you have disconnected from the battery and extra caution should be exercised.

That said before disconnecting the battery I would remove shore power, disconnect the battery, tape and secure cable ends and then reapply shore power. Be prepared for the converter fan to run on high and add load to it slowly and carefully.

If you have the typical Power Distribution panel, you should have a breaker labeled for the converter to allow turning the converter off without disconnection all power to the Monty.
