Mountaineer 5er Owners
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a Mountaineer fifthwheel. I am looking at the NEW 2005 Mountaineers, I really like the NEW floorplan 329RLS, they have at my local dealer. Has anyone seen it yet? How has the Mountaineer held up over the years?, I also like the Montana 298RLS and the Montana 29RKS, but you get more room with the Mountaineer 329RLS with end table and second recliner and it is more in the price range for us. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank You, Sincerely gr8tadventure......

Hello GR8,
Although we don't have the 5er, we do love our Mountaineer. It's the best bang for the buck there is out there in TT's. The best storage in the business.
Someone will be along shortly with info. on the 5ers.
Advanced Congradulations, and welcome to the family.
Happy Camping

Howdy, GR8! We're in the 297RKS and LOVE it! Ours was a spur of the moment purchase (got a KILLER deal on Dec 31st). Unfortunately, the dealer didn't have the rear living room model on the lot. The other brand we were originally going to purchase was of that configuration. Like Azstar, we felt that this unit was a great bang for the buck. Best of luck!!

we have the 298rls we just got in October. so far we love it but we did onlky take one trip with it in November. We too felt it was the best bang for the buck and we looked at many when we were at the great northeran RV rally in Hutchinson, KS.

We have had our 318BHS for almost 3 years and have not had a problem other then a couple little issues at delivery (missing closet bar, and small leak around the TV antenna) which the dealer and Keystone resolved quickly. We really love our Mountaineer 5er and plan to keep it for a long time.

I could not find a picture yet of a floor plan but here are a couple of links of the Model and photographs of the interior.

It's a beautiful unit and very tempting. If it had space for a washer and dryer I'd really be thinking about it for us. I really like the desk layout and the kitchen layout.

We saw one of the Mountaineers at the Tampa RV Show and were very impressed. I don't remember which model. One of the highly placed Keystone reps told us the Montana has moved up to include many of the Big Sky and other features and the Mountaineer has moved up to where it is essentially what the Montana was just a couple of years ago. So, yes, I'm very impressed with the Mountaineers. You'll find numerous members here with Mountaineers.

We did a lot of shopping before we bought. We were not going to buy a new unit.
A salesman showed us a new Mountaineer 328RLS and I was hooked. The price difference from a late model 5er any brand and a new Mountaineer made no sence to buy used.
We took delivery in November and have had no problems. I am extremely impressed with the roominess and ease of setup. It tows like a dream. In my opinion the Mountaineer is the best bang for the buck.
Good Luck
Rick

We have an '03 335RLBS TT and have been very pleased. No major problems and was a good deal for the money. We'd do it again.
