Tailgating with a Honda generator ?

Anyone tailgate with a Honda (or two) generator? I am concerned about the exhaust. Our university requires exhaust stand pipes. I had one for our motorhome.....it won't fit on the Honda 3000.

Any ideas?

Thanks - Bill

Bill,

We've never tailgated.... well unless you count parking in a casino parking lot as tailgating and we only have a Honda 2000.

Since a Honda 3000 is a bit large to be moving around I don't know what to tell you. Do you have the wheel kit on the Honda? It would still be heavy to move around..... Maybe you can fabricate a device to fit on the Honda and connect to the exhaust standpipe.

Assuming that you are going to leave the generator in the truck, and by the cab I would get some PVC pipe 1 1/2" or 2" and some flex hose and a two hose clamps. That will allow you to clamp around the exhaust pipe and the stand pipe and lean the standpipe up against the corner of the bed. You can get whatever height you want and should be okay. The generator can hold the standpipe in place in the corner.

I have a Honda 3000. I have a storage box in front of a 8ft bed put generator in back of storage box in front of 5th of to right side. When we use it we leave it in the bed no problems just run cord to it.
