Curt Q20 Pin Position?

Sorry to jump in on this post but I cannot find out how to start a new post or thread. I have a Curt Q20 which is a slider. In tow mode the king pin is located just in front of the axle. Can I position the hitch in the backing mode which puts the king pin just behind the axle and tow? What would be the pros and cons.
