I did it in my 3485 and everything went well until I tryed to bring the slides in. Turns out the sofa sticks out about 3 inches to far.

It works with the old sofa/bed (2007 and older). Will not work with the new one that is the air mattress that came in 2008. Bob

We swapped our's but we also have the old style sofa not the air mattress one. We really like not having to move those heavy chairs around everytime we move.

It worked fine in our 2007 (2006 build) 3400RL with the old style sofa bed with the mattress. If you will be using the propane furnace, there is a vent that will be under the sofa that needs blocked off or some kind of above floor directional duct work installed. We blocked ours off with a few layers of tin foil under the register. Take care when closing the slides to make sure that the sofa is all the way back against the window. The clearance is there, but it is close (a couple of inches).

If you're just a little bit short of getting the couch back far enough to clear the slide, try disconnecting the curtain-holder/bracket thingies. The weight of the holder/bracket (yours should be metal and a little heavier) will hold the curtains down when not traveling. You can then push them out of the way when you need to push the couch back. We have an after-market residential sofa sleeper and by pushing the curtain/holder out of the way, it gives me an extra 1.5 inches or so. I also have to lift the shade up enough to clear the back of the couch.
I wonder if this would work for those with the air mattress couches

We put our couch in the back of our 3400RL. Built in July of 2007. Like Bingo said, just make sure the couch is pushed all the way back against the window before putting the slides in. Ours clears by about an inch. We have the fold out queen airmatress couch in ours.

We had a 2005 3400 and we swapped the chairs and sofa. The only issue we ran into was the chairs scraping the wall paper. The 2005 3400 was a great unit. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoyed ours.
