Just returned from dealer a bit ago. The new epoxy and gun to install it are in. I've scheduled to take the unit next Tuesday for sure, maybe Monday if time allows. They will remove the lower trim and inject a new epoxy like Loctite 8100 into the area and then screw the sidewall to the beam along the edge(hidden by trim). The only difference this time will be that this will be done while the weight of the rig is on the pinbox and not the legs as before. I did receive a call from a member of Keystone management today assuring me that this and the AC issue will be resolved. She was very reassuring that this is being taken seriously and they are now all in for the repair. They do not have a next step as of yet if this doesn't work, so that was not comforting, but at least they upper people know there is a problem now. I will keep you guys updated.
It is interesting they are now doing exactly what they did to my unit in order to resolve this issue. I also had to await the rental gun and epoxy to be sent from Keystone. The instructions for this repair as I posted on page 9 of this thread clearly highlight the importance of doing this repair with the weight on the pin. Jeez if they did not follow the instructions in the first place it is no wonder they are having to redo it. As I said in my previous post this does not address the flex issue, it only serves to cover up the obvious effects of the flex problem.

I have the papers describing what was to be done in the first attempts, and none of them mentioned the weight in the pin, so I'll give them that one. You are exactly right, still doesn't explain the flex.

Delivered the unit back to the dealer today. Keystone called them late last week and asked that they hold off on the screws and glue for now, and told them to call the factory when the unit was back in their possession. Not sure what this means, but it is back for further review.

Makes me wonder if Keystone has been contacted be Trailer Life.

That is what I am hoping for. IF it is repaired, and repaired correctly, I will enjoy this unit. But with this issue AND the AC unit issue, it has really soured me on Montanas. The infuriating part is the extent I(the repair facility and the dealer) had to go to get them to even make a phone call!

Spoke with the Keystone manager assigned to my rig today. The unit will be taken back to Indiana the middle of January for repairs.

Why did they put you through all other this? It looks like they would have done this to begin with.

Seriously though, after everything why wouldn't they just swap it out?

I agree with JandC, swap it out for one specifically built for you and overseen by someone assigned to build your new one or refund my money. They should also reimburse you for all your time, anguish and trouble in dealing with this. I certainly wouldn't buy a new Keystone product now. Good luck to you. A lot of people are waiting to see your outcome.

I talked to the one who is scheduling the return trip today. The unit has to be at the dealer on Feb. 6th for them to pick it up on the 7th. The scheduled days to work on it are the 15th-18th. Everything has to be out of the unit. They were more worried about the AC units not cooling the unit than the flex!!! I finally asked them how in the world would they test the AC units in FEB?? She said it was easy to do. :-huh:-huh Then the unit's side will be fixed as well as the inside banister and right rear skirting. The unit will then be sent to the "rain bay" and tested for water leaks with the slides closed, then open. If it passes, it will then be thoroughly cleaned and then shipped back.
They will be emailing me the steps I have to do to ready it for transport. I'll pass the unusual stuff along if there is anything. Just wanted to update you guys.

Ask them to extend your factory warranty an additional two years.

They also need to pay you for your wear and tear on your tires by replacing them. A new set of sailun's seems about right to me. Since those are the new standard i am sure they have a set around somewhere. You have not if you ask not. Good Luck.

I have G614s on it now that came with the Legacy Pckg. I would really like to have an extended warranty since the unit has spent a full third of my ownership at the dealership! I did ask them if I would ever know what they found and was told yes. Said they would give a detailed report as to what was found and the repairs done to correct the problem. So, now more of a waiting game, but at least now I have their attention.

When Montana hauled my rig to their factory for repair, they did extend the original warranty for 6 months. I had to ask for it, but they didn't resist. It is definitely worth the effort.
