We have joined the pet brigade

We picked up our new Scottie today. His name is Graeme(Graham in true Celtic form). He is 9 weeks old and so far is behaving himself. Bob is like a doting father!!!! and mother all wrapped into one. Kind of funny...Hoping for a quiet night!!
Carol..we were in Fredericksburg to meet the breeder and pick up the pup. Would have stopped by, but had the grandsons with us and it was bedlam. We headed back to Bastrop as fast as we could legally travel.

Congratulations, but did you check the feet. Puppies grow into their feet. Hope he turns out to be the companion you want.

I have been to and through Basdrop on several occasions. Twice with the annual MS150 from Houston to Austin. Basdrop State Park has some challenging hills for bike riders.

Myrna,

Congrats! Nothing in the world like puppy breath! Good luck with the training and ohhhh, have FUN! I strongly suggest a crate! Wonderful for training and traveling, and the kid will have a place to feel safe if the grandkids get over affectionate! HA HA

understand about the stop with kids and a new pup in the truck, I would have kept on driving too! HA HA

Post a photo!!! Or two!!

Carol

Congradulations Bob and Myrna on your new arrival. We have had pets our entire married life and they bring so much joy to our day, every day. Post pictures.

Congratulations! It sounds as if Graeme is smart enough to very quickly make himself a member of the family!

Congrats on the new puppy. Take lots of pictures before he grows into those feet. My kennel manager has a new chow puppy and it is the battle of the wills at the present time. We on the other hand have a new kitten named Alex that is independent as well. You forget about all the fun you have trying to potty train, leash train and the sit, stay, down training

Good luck!

Well first night is a quiet night after some whining. He currently is asleep in Bob's chair after playing with the grandsons all afternoon. He is really funny to watch and those feet are not too big. He loves plain yogurt.. it is puppy ice cream and gets it as a reward after doing the deed outside!! Trying to take pictures but he doesn't always cooperate. Thanks for all the good wishes.

Dchafer.. he is black. His mom is black and Dad is white. In the litter of six there were 3 black males and 3 wheaten (white) females. 2 of the males had tinges of red in their coat. We got the blackest one. So far so good..

dchafer.. his name is Graeme (pronounced Graham). It is Celtic. Judy..I keep trying for a good picture and he is not cooperative. Went to the vet today and he weighs 5.9 lbs. They say he is in excellent health. He is pretty smart but stubborn about the potty training. Our bribe is plain yogurt (puppy ice cream). If he does his thing, he gets a tsp. Hope to have a decent picture soon...

I'm sure he'll be the most spoiled puppy in southeast Texas. What a lucky guy he is!

That is so great! A puppy is so much fun.
I'm partly jealous of your getting to love and train him to do things and partly glad I don't have to do it again! lol
I'm sure you'll enjoy him for a long time.
