KathyandDave - You are right on with your post! I saw nothing wrong there

Yup, Deadeye, I think many RVers do not weight their rigs. End of story. For an 18,800 trailer you are talking about 4500s and F450s. That weight exceeds 3500s and F350s even with DRWs.

How many of us have seen 3 axle toy trailers or RVs being pulled by 3/4 ton pickups.... can anyone see me waving my right hand in the air, quite profusely? In southern California, there are too many of them. Even DW knows they are a problem waiting to happen.

But we hope and pray that all continues to go well.

I agree that most likely an F450/4500 range truck is important for a trailer with GVWR of 18,800, ASSUMING he's actually heavily loaded. I have a bit of a problem with making that assumption. I think it's important to have an actual weight. Then and only then do you know how that weight relates to the ratings of the tow vehicle. Most likely a trailer with that rating is going to be pretty darn heavy but it's also possible it just has a huge Carrying Capacity and is actually lightly loaded. Not likely, but possible. When in doubt, get it weighed. Then you have facts to work with. Everything else is speculation.
