U-Bolts again

After destroying a G614 (bald), I replaced the tire, then checked my U-bolt torque. All bolts, especially on the tire axle, were in ne3ed of tightening! In 2 yearsw of travel, I guess they loosened. Nee3d to check them more often.

That is something that needs periodic checking.

Should be 45 to 70 ft lbs, and that is with the rig sitting normally, not raised off the ground. The u-bolt nuts with the underslung axles must be torqued when the springs are flexed to their normal travel curve.

See, you should have done that while at gouldings instead of yakking with me. Actually it is hard to say what we should check given the beating we put these things through. Two highlights after leaving campground for me, 1- on way through kayenta right beside road in front of police station was a wild horse munching on some green grass, 2- a bit after turning onto 89 saw some wild horses walking together with a coyote in the lead by about 30' that looked back at the horses a couple of times.
