Washer and dryer

My DW and I are looking at a 3402 which is similar to the 3400. I am wondering if the shelf and rod can be removed in the washer dryer prep area and install a separate stack washer and dryer. I realize an electrical run with a 20AMP circuity and plug will be needed for the dryer. Is the electrical box easy to get to in the 3400 and is their usually room for an extra circuit?
Thank you
Steve

Taking the shelf and rod is probably as easy as using a screwdriver. No problem. In our 2011 3400 there is a washer prep in the closet. No problem installing a stacked washer/dryer.

Good luck.

The circuit breaker box is in the toilet room right behind the washer closet if they haven't moved it from previous years. Check to make sure the dryer circuit isn't already there.

We have a stack in our washer/dryer cabinet. When the dealer installed them he removed the shelf and rod. That was 5 1/2 years ago and it's worked fine.

Biggest problem we had was that ours had bi-fold doors on that cabinet. As it came from the factory that made it very difficult to get to the primary knob on the washer. If I reversed the doors to hinge from the other side, then the drier knobs were affected. So I just split the doors and hinged them separately on each side so they open out instead of folding in.
