installation of hardwired EMS on 3402rl

Has anyond installed the hardwired EMS on the 2013 Montana 3402rl. I went to the back where the cord attaches to the fiftwheel and everything is covered up. Where do you connect into the electric system? Any information will be appreciated. Thank you Mike and Gwen

If the breaker panel is in the bathroom, then most people with that type of model (washer-dryer closet next to entry door), have done their installations behind the breaker panel (it is removable). There is a compartment that will hold the EMS above where the washer-dryer sits.

I am not familiar with your units floor plan. I installed a hardwired Progressive Industries Protector in my 2012 343rl HC Montana. I called the factory for any suggestions. The factory said that removing the storage compartment rear panels would allow me to access the feed to the distribution panel. I found the cable and installed the unit with no trouble. My distribution panel is located at the bottom of the kitchen cabinet on the common wall between the kitchen and bath. Call Keystone and ask for the location that will give you the most wire to work with.

To chime in here I just installed my EMS in my 3400RL. After much contemplation, I installed it right next to the transfer switch behind the panel in the storage area.

Yes, and if you have a generator, "a hardwired EMS should be installed prior to the transfer switch. The reason for this is RV generators already have built-in voltage and frequency protection. If the EMS is installed after the transfer switch, this leaves the transfer switch vulnerable to power problems." - as per Progressive Industries under FAQs.
