Confused about 2009 3400rl

I just purchased a 2009 3400rl 10th anniversary edition. I looked at the brochure on line and some things don't match. They offer a 10 cu ft 2 door refrig option but mine has 4 doors. Could this be a year end 2010. Thanks for any help.

If the four doors are two for the fridge and two for the freezer, you have the 10 cu. ft. fridge. Since we upgraded and got the bigger fridge, we cannot fathom how in the world we managed with the smaller one!

your guess will be as good as anyone's. I am sure you have read enough post on here about "variations" from unit to unit. So, just go with the flow and enjoy.

The closer the build date is to June of 2009 the more likely it is you'll see 2010 features as that's about when the model year changes.

Also, Keystone sometimes makes midyear production changes.

I can testify to that. We have a 2011 3400RL, but it has the features of the 2010 model year. I was told it was built early in the production year, so the 2011 changes had not hit the assembly line yet. Just makes it hard to explain to the next buyer (or previous owner in this case!)

In defense of Keystone: We had a 2005 with a rear kitchen, with a 3-4 inch step down floor from the living room to kitchen.. We liked it because it contributed to room separation. Folks complained because they tripped stepping down into the kitchen area, so Keystone changed. SO.., for 2005, some units had step down floors in the kitchen and others did not.

We are just the other way about the model year and equipment. Three weeks from the time we ordered our Big Sky it was delivered. Our sales person called the Montana production scheduler and the schedular called me and said he called a dealer that had the same trailer ordered for his lot but it was not sold. The scheduler said he made a deal with the dealer to reschedule the dealers trailer. The dealers trailer had the convection oven and the slide toppers on it that we did not order but if we wanted the trailer he would have it deliverd to use at no extra charge for the oven and toppers. The trailer came off the production line two weeks before the mfg dates changed to 20012. Our trailer is dated as a 2011 but has all the 2012 features. The price was still the 2011 price, a little over 30% less than the MRSP. AS stated above we did not have to pay for the convection oven or the three slide toppers, about a $2,000 value. We were very happy about the early delivery date and the price.

The 2009 models came with a 8 cubic ft. double door refrigerator standard and an option to upgrade to a 10 cubic ft. double door model.

The 2010 models came standard with an 8 cubic foot double door refrigerator and the optional upgrade was a 12 cubic foot four door refrigerator.

I bet someone ordered a 2009 model with the upgraded refer very late in the build cycle. It actually came with the larger 4-door 12 cubic foot (2010 version) rather than the 2-door 10 cubic foot (2009 version) likely because Montana had run out of the smaller ones.

It is not unusual for Montana to run out of stock on an item and substitute something (usually better) different. Particularly at the end of a model year. Sometimes you win. But sometimes it works against you too. Around 2006, when they changed from blue decals to brown decals (the ones that peel easily) they continued to install blue awnings until they used up the stockpile. After that owners got the brown awning which coordinated with the color of the decals.

Another odd thing the graphics look like the 2010 not like the 2009. I guess it was a late build.

I ordered a 2012 3402 Big Sky. It has a build date of May 3, 2012 but is a 2013 Model year and we can tell by the solid counter top over the stove. I do remember the early 2006 Montana's with the blue awning and some without the convenience center.

Our 2010 has the four door, 12 cubic foot refrig.
