3100RL

Hi all! DW and I have been 'looking' for about a year now for a trailer since we decided to forego the motorhome route that we've been doing since the 80's. We've finally have come around and will be ordering the 3100RL next month. We would appreciate any 3100 owners letting us in on how they like their trailer and if there are anything extra we need to make sure we order when ordering the unit. We are planning on ordering a few of the options listed in the brochure such as the slide out toppers and especially the 6-point level-up system. Anything else we need to make sure we get? Thanks in advance for all your comments.

Great choice Ray. I recommend the 2nd A/C unit. Hard to get cool air up to the bedroom even with the ducting. Happy camping.

Yes definitely the second AC and on the ADD on List I would put an EMS system either permanent mount or pedestal plug in.
Good luck

Add-ons???

Let's see...we have added the 2nd A/C, 5.5KW Onan genset, 4ea 6 volt batteries, solar panels, 3KW inverter, JT Armstrong's braces, direct drive landing gear, Moro-ryde pin box, washer/dryer, automatic satellite TV receiver, internal LED lighting....

The list can go on and on and on and...well, you get the picture. The single best add-on of all these has been the 2nd A/C. If you travel in hot weather (like Arizona or Florida or Texas in the summer) you will definitely need this.

AND, welcome to the MOC forum.

Make the DW real happy and get a 12 cu. ft. Four Door Refrigerator, Fantastic fan vent, and Central vacuum. Make yourself happy and add MOR/ryde hitch pin and for sure add the US made G range tires and wheels.

I'd add the air pin box.

We recieved our 2011, 3100RL last Feb. We love the floor plan. Made a 2 1/2 month, 9 state tour May thru July We have had a few problems, but all taken care of under warranty. We are Camp Hosting now thru March, 2012 in Texas, Plan to head toward Oregon, Washington, May-June 2012. We have changed all interior and a few of exterior lights to LED's, added Washer/dryer, slide covers, changed king bed for a sealy queen. Made an appointment today to change the Marathon's (made in China) to Goodyear's G614's tires. We had dealer replace the Bath small vent fan for a Fan-tastic unit and add covers for both fans. Level-up is on my wish list, saving up pennies ;>)
Welcome to MOC and I believe you will enjoy your new unit.

Thanks all for your comments. We've actually already thought of a few of your recommendations, but some we hadn't and will add. Big Sky Pkg is not available for the 3100 (so far), but have already thought of asking if the 'G' tires and wheels are available anyway. Can't hurt to ask. We've already begun talks with a sales rep at our local dealer and I gave him an initial options list that included the 6-point level up system. He mentioned that they don't order any Montanas that don't have it. A major selling point. Hadn't thought of the fantastic fans, but sounds like the right thing to get, especially for the bath.
