Filling Fresh Water Tank
How long does it take to fill your fresh water tank using the on-board valve when you are hook up to city water. Its takes me about two hours, which I thank is too long. I thank I may have a kink in my line. Your info will help me figure it out. I have a 2010 347 THT Mountaineer. Thank You.

The factors that come to mind is most important the pressure of the water entering the trailer. If it is low then it will take a lot longer. Next disconnect your hose and fill a 5 gallon pail. You have about a [s]37 to 40[/s] (edit- thanks WELDON 67) gallon holding tank so that time times eight should give you a feeling. Remember you trailer pipes are smaller than the hose supplying so you should probably double the time because the the trailer pipe restrictions.
Since the valve that switches to the holding tank fill is smaller you might add a percentage of time for that.
If you feel there is a kink then I guess you will have to start chasing pipes.
Good luck. Let us know what you find.

John, going by the stats on the internet out Monty holds 67 gal. fresh water. The pressure was around 90 PSI as I was at the S&B in Texas when I timed it. The dealer found a kink in the black tank wash-out. I did not have him check the fresh water. MY-BAD. Thanks for the reply

Don't remember exactly how long, but no where near that long last time I did it. I only filled it to about 3/4, but it wasn't more than 10 to 15 minutes as I recall.
Did you loosen the filler cap while filling? I did when I filled mine to let the air out as it filled. Could be that pressure is preventing it from filling faster.

I don't have to loosen the fresh water tank filler cap as there is a screened vent line right next to it.
John has a good point about the plastic valves used to direct water flow ... the hole in the plastic valve is almost 1/2 the size of the plastic supply lines. This cuts down on volume significantly. 2 hours does seem a little much to fil a tank though.

even a poor campground water system will put out about 2 gallons a minute. so at that rate,30-35 minutes would be more than enough time to fill your tank. water volume is what you need, pressure dosen't help.you can have 100psi and still flow only 2 gallons a minute. all you have at that point is a pressure washer. so my point is you have some sort of blockage, twist in hose, collapsed hose, your vent could be plugged. have you filled your tank before using that system?
