You may have the same leak I did

I have been fighting with a leak, and thought I had found the area of the problem, which I did. However the real problem was a little different and you probably have the same situation.
If you look closely at the refrigerator access door on the outside of your Monte or any unit. Look especially at the bottom of the door and notice there is a gap between the door and the trim. Notice the three slots there that are like little ditches saying, "water, here is a way inside where it is warm and dry." When mine was installed the screws securing the trim were tightened up to the point the trim was sloped to the inside on the trailer. When ever it rained (that's often here in the great NW) rain trickled in and found its way down between the inner and outer wall. Eventually it made its way after two plus years and puddled on the floor in front of the refrigerator. Most of these access doors are in a place where the water may never show like it did mine. But nonetheless that water will eventually begin to cause dry rot.
So if you feel like checking, and that is so easy to do, let me know what you find. If you pull the bottom screws and find they are rusty you have had a water leak.
I feel better now sharing this, thanks for listening.

To solve the problem I used a small piece of 1/4 round and caulked it in place behind the door to make a dam to keep the water from sneaking in.

Ah! The ever, never ending, refrigerator vent water leak. In the newer years you don't have it as bad as the previous years. Unfortunately the new design Montana made to the vent areas leaves something to be desired when the old craftsmen are given new power tools to put in screws.

Here is an older thread on Refer Vent Fix
