Rusting screws and/or rivets....

On the dealer lot, we noticed several units that had rust streaks running down from the clips that hold open the basement doors, from screws and rivets, etc. Why Keystone doesn't recognize these problems and put in rustproof replacements, I don't know. Now they're showing up on our unit, too. Has anyone addressed this problem? What do you use to clean the mess up or prevent it from happening? Thanks for sharing.

I have notice the same thing. What else I have notice on a unit in the camp site I were at had plastic clips. I will be looking for those clips to replace the rust stricking ones.

So far have not noticed this, my last rv had the plastic clips and they were so so, I was always concerned they might break and was impressed with the metal ones on the new rv, if they should start to rust or corrode, Im sure some stainless steel fasteners will do just fine. available at most hardware stores and all marine parts stores.

Glen and Judy: I've had this problem also with the scews on the windows and the medal door catches. My dealer replaced the metal door catches with plastic ones and I called Keystone and they sent me a bag of replacement screws for the windowes and they are painted, but I put a couple more coats of Rustoleum on them and I have not got around to replacing them yet.

That sounds like a good solution. I'll have to contact them(Keystone). Seems like the rust streaks will just get worse if they're left alone. Thanks for the info
