Adjusting Stove Flame

Has anyone adjusted the burner flame on their stove? It has always worked well, but now has more yellow to it.

Been a long time and two RVs back, since I had to. There was a sleeve with a setscrew holding it that you could move after loosening the screw. Sliding it back or forth changed the mix of gas and air going to the burner - same for your hot water heater. Pretty simple adjustment, but it takes a little while to get it right.

You might want to have your regulator checked, because it would cause a change in pressure that would affect the flame at not just the stove, but all the appliances.

By chance is the tank getting close to being empty? Ive seen as tanks empty, the mixture/flame color changes some.

I've experienced that as well.

Just changed to a full tank. Filled the other tank to top it off. Will try going back to the other tank.

Ron Try turning your tanks off again and slowly turn them on. That valve on the inside of the tank may be stuck. Dave McNair use to take them out, turn them upside down and pot them on the ground to loosen the valve. Maybe he'll jump in here and explain his workings!

Got it fixed. Took tanks out, reinstalled, turned on one tank. Problem gone.

You're right Walt. It's called a shutter.
